To celebrate National Emergency Medical Service (EMS) week May 19-24th, Steward Health Care hosted the thirdannual “EMS Stewards of the Community” Awards, recognizing EMS providers who went “above and beyond” in their interactions with patients at Steward hospitals across the country. This year’s recipients include 59 EMS providers across Steward’s 37 hospitals in nine states.
“EMS providers are the unsung heroes on the front lines of health care, delivering services to those who need it most,” said Brendan Hayden, system vice president for EMS at Steward Health Care. “We are proud to recognize them for their compassionate, high-quality care, and congratulate the recipients for their contributions to the communities they serve.”
The “EMS Stewards of the Community” awards show appreciation for emergency medical responders, emergency medical technicians and advanced emergency medical technicians, and paramedics who not only carry out the noble work of caring for others, but do so with a high degree of expertise, professionalism, and compassion. An internal committee of physicians and EMS directors selected recipients among current providers in communities served by Steward.
