CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare (CHS) has received an award for outstanding innovation from the New York State Department of Health. The agency was chosen by the state for its implementation of a simulation training program for healthcare providers including paramedics, EMTs, and in-hospital caregivers.
Using real-life scenarios and state-of-the-art mannequins and audio/visual technology, simulation training enables the provider opportunities to engage in real scenarios in a captivating, realistic and immersive environment.
CHS has taken the simulation experience to a fully furnished home, staged to reflect a realistic response environment. Rooms are outfitted with cameras and microphones with a control room centrally located within the house to allow facilitators to monitor participants as they move through a scenario. Participants can respond to a scenario from within a specially equipped ambulance, also wired with cameras and microphones.
The award was presented at the annual state EMS conference (“Vital Signs”) which was held Sunday October 27 at the Buffalo Convention Center.
