There has likely never been a more critical time to connect with members of Congress on pressing EMS-specific issues. We have made great progress, but we need to keep the advocacy in high gear on topic such as:
EMS workforce protections;
EMS funding and reimbursement issues, including Medicare extenders and sequestration cuts;
Expanded roles and payment for those expanded roles, including extending treatment in place reimbursement beyond the public health emergency;
Grant funding for struggling rural EMS agencies and practitioners.
NAEMT’s EMS On The Hill Day is an excellent way to connect with Congressional representatives to personally share with them issues that are important to you and your community.
This year, it will be easier than ever to ‘attend’ EMS On The Hill Day and meet 1:1 with your elected officials! Virtual meetings will occur on April 13, 14, and 15, 2021 (each state will be assigned a specific day and time window, so you won't need to be available all three days).
There will be a virtual briefing on April 6, 2021, and 30-minute state-specific briefings will be scheduled April 6–8, 2021.
Please join the hundreds of EMS officials from all over the country and let your elected officials hear from you!
