Acuity Link, ZOLL Integrate Solutions to Improve Medical Transport Dispatch

Acuity Link, a provider of software solutions used to automate and optimize non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, have integrated their dispatch solutions to simplify and streamline NEMT management. The integration delivers next-generation medical transportation capabilities for healthcare organizations and medical transport providers.

Together, the companies have developed an integration between Acuity Link’s NEMT logistic management dashboard and ZOLL’s computer aided dispatch (CAD) software, by which medical transportation dispatchers coordinate emergency and non-emergency medical transportation.

The integrated functionality improves NEMT dispatch processes by allowing patient transport requests made via Acuity Link to automatically sync with ZOLL’s CAD software, removing the need for lengthy phone calls and manual patient data input. Additionally, the integration replaces radio status updates between transport crews and dispatch centers. Automatic geo-fence triggered updates from the Acuity Link mobile application are shared in real-time between health care facilities and dispatch teams.

“Through the Acuity Link/ZOLL integration, we are setting a new standard for the medical transportation industry,” said Alex Theoharidis, CEO of Acuity Link. “With Acuity Link, health care facilities have been able to streamline patient transportation by digitizing and automating transport requests for all modes of ambulance transportation and ambulatory patient transport. Integrating with ZOLL’s CAD systems allows us to further bridge the communication gaps for health care institutions nationwide and their contracted ambulance service providers, while automating service level agreement compliance.”

“When we were approached by Acuity Link, we immediately recognized the value the integrated solutions would deliver to the ambulance companies using our software. By integrating the benefits of both platforms, we see great potential to improve workflow for dispatchers, reduce human error, and drive better financial results,” said Alex N. Moghadam, President, ZOLL Data Management Products.
