Minneapolis, Minn. – April 17, 2012 – OPEN Incorporated, makers of the SafetyPAD® suite of technology products for Fire and Emergency Medical Services, has announcedthe launch of its Enterprise Version 4.0 platform with enhanced quality control and interoperability features. SafetyPAD Enterprise is an industry leading EMS information management system. It is comprised of a high-performance relational database and a secure, web-based administrative console.  The upgrade has been automatically deployed to agencies using the web-based SafetyPAD Enterprise platform.

SafetyPAD 4.0’s new features include:

  • CaseFlow Upgrade – SafetyPAD’s Quality Control/Quality Assurance application can now help ensure that calls follow protocols, are completed according to policy and procedure, and are immediately available for quality assurance, feedback and correction. SafetyPAD Enterprise helps agencies to achieve these goals with the introduction of Case Flow
  • BioView – Bio-View offers Syndromic Surveillance and Clinical Alerting Technology. This SafetyPAD feature checks the documentation of patient care in progress with the ability to set up alerts on what may be occurring as well as the appropriate treatment options. As cases are entered in the field  they are continually checked against agency-defined criteria set for each individual alert. 
  • Enhanced Interactive Guidelines – SafetyPAD’s customizable “to-do” and agency defined medical protocols lists that clearly outline a step-by-step process that emergency service personnel must follow for each specific patient calls to ensure policy and procedure compliance in the field.
  • Application Program Interface – Hospitals and other such institutions can now ‘pull’ SafetyPAD patient data directly into their systems after receiving expressed permission from the emergency services agency to do so in order to expedite the transfer of critical information to continue care and treatment of a patient.
