Traumatic brain injury (TBI) accounts for over 30% of all traumatic deaths in the U.S. Managing these patients is challenging and EMS providers must focus on airway, oxygenation, ventilation, and perfusion. Secondary TBI is the silent killer, with one episode of hypoxia or hypotension increasing mortality by 50%. In this webinar, Eric Bauer will use a case-based approach to evaluate CT scans, pictures, and lab values in diagnosing and treating TBI presentations. The focus is on preventing the “three Hs.” A Q&A will follow.
- Discuss the introduction case study
- Identify different TBIs through CT scans
- Discuss secondary traumatic brain injuries
- Analyze the 3 Hs in TBI
