More and more, first responders are facing a wide array of behavioral health crisis calls. This webinar will dive into topics concerning behavioral health calls and provide strategies around deescalating patients, exploring alternate destinations, and providing compassionate care and treatment in the field.

Dan Gaudette, MSN, RN, MICN, is currently director of specialty care transport for Hackensack Meridian JFK EMS. Previously, Dan has worked as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse and before that was part of Mobile Crisis Teams as a Certified Mental Health Screener. Dan is a life member on Point Boro First Aid Squad where he serves as the Cadet Advisor. Dan is a national speaker on topics related to critical care transport, mental health, and communication.

Anna Ryan, BA(c), NRP, EMT-I
Anna Ryan, BA(c), NRP, EMT-I, is an EMS Course Coordinator for Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center and a paramedic in NJ. She has successfully flipped the EMS classroom in the EMT Initial classes and the continuing education programs at JSUMC. She stresses the need for engaging education and experiential learning as well as using her educational background to stress mental health and wellbeing practice in the EMS community. She lives happily by the ocean in Central Jersey, a real place no matter what you've heard, with her dog, several cats, and a husband.
