Question: What incidents are EMS providers required by law to report?

Answer: Most states require EMS providers to report child abuse. Other states have additional requirements to report elder abuse, sexual assault or abuse, gunshot wounds and other crimes. 

You may report suspicions for any event to hospital personnel. States or regions may have additional required reporting steps.
