Ark. Firefighter Shot, Killed on EMS Call

An Arkansas firefighter was shot and killed early Friday while responding to treat a patient in a rural area in North Little Rock.

Officials are investigating to determine if the shooter thought East Pulaski Lt. Jason Adams, 29, was an intruder, KATV reported.

The shooter was coming out of a seizure, and may have fired at Adams thinking he was a burglar, a witness told the station.

No arrests have been made.

Adams was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock and pronounced dead.

Details of the incident, that occurred in a rural area during a snowstorm, are still emerging.
