VACAVILLE, Calif. --

More than a dozen people were injured Monday when a tour bus carrying 49 passengers crashed near Interstate 80 outside Vacaville.

California Highway Patrol Officer Ralph Caggiano said 13 individuals were transported from the scene by ambulance with minor to moderate injuries.

Caggiano said the crash was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday on Lyon Road, south of Cherry Glen Road, in an unincorporated part of Solano County. He said it appears the bus had just exited the freeway.

According to investigators the bus veered off the highway through a fence and onto another road where it clipped another car.

Traffic was moving slowly on Highway 80 during Monday's evening commute after the crash took place.

The CHP remained on the scene investigating Monday evening.

CHP investigators said the driver of the bus was experienced and her license was current.

"I am still nervous," said the driver in the bus accident, who did not want to give her name.

CHP officials said they are still investigating to find the exact cause of the bus malfunction.
