D.C. Fire Chief, Mayor Respond to Medical Director`s Scathing Resignation Letter

In a scathing resignation letter sent to Mayor Muriel Bowser, Dr. Saussy wrote "people are dying needlessly because we are moving too slow."
During interviews, D.C. Fire Chief Gregory Dean and Mayor Muriel Bowser responded to the letter.
Dean says the department is working hard to deal with the system they have.
"The system needs to be turned around," Dean says.
Muriel says EMTs and paramedics need to be given more training opportunities.
"We are outlining a system of reforms," Muriel says.
Staussy says part of the problem is the leadership.
"This is not personal," Saussy says. "This is about doing the right thing."
